itti bittis

hi all, iam very very new to this sorry if it's been asked before..

ok so i want to start using cloth nappies for when the baby is born, i just got some itti bittis AIO's as they look easy and i think my hubby will like them.

now are these good for big wetters?? im worried about buying heaps of them and the baby just wet's thru them.

any advice on which ones are good for also big wetters would be sooo helpful.

also one more Q how many nappies will i need for a newborn to start off with?

As an itti fan I'm coming with the totally biased opinion that they are wonderful

Having said that, in my case they weren't suitable till R was 6 weeks old so be prepared for that. Unless your bub is on the big side or has chunkier thighs. My kids really aren't big wetters either but I don't leave them in nappies for a long time, unless it's nap time or long car rides, then I use something else.

They are pretty dad friendly and my cloth phobic DH likes them

I definitely wouldn't say that they are for heavy wetters!! I get more time out of nearly every nappy (bar a bubblebubs) than what I did from my ittis (I don't have them anymore - cos DS just peed through them in about 1.5 hours). But its difficult to tell whether you have a heavy wetter or not if they aren't here yet My DD isn't a particularly heavy wetter during the day, but is at night - whereas DS is just an ongoing firehose.

For big wetters, I use baby beehinds fitteds and motherease rikki covers for DS mostly - and pockets like, ecobubs, green kids etc, cos I can put more in there and I know its not going to leak. Genesa Forge are good too - so are Twinkle Lily, Dragonfly Magik (WAHM's in Australia - hard to get hold of, but worth it!).

As for newborn nappies - I had probably around 30ish and it still wasn't enough - for me. I changed every 2 hours though because thats when she was feeding. Prefolds and covers would be your cheapest and probably best option for a newborn - I have lots more prefolds this time around, just need to convince DH that I need more covers
