    1) dont let your DH do the washing unless you have trained him.
    2) dont put brand new red clothes in the same load as the nappies. Even on Cold. See 1) above

    3) When 1) above is ignored by your DH, and results in 2) above happening -- Make sure that you catch him before he puts them in the dryer, and have a stash of that runaway stuff for coloured items, in an emergency so that you nice SB OVs and GF A12s have some hope of being salvaged

So true. So much training required. DH cracks it when I get another new nappy that he needs to learn how to wash... the latest is a Bum Genius, he forgets to take the boosters out and then puts the cover in the dryer. I shouldn't complain though, at least he does the washing!!!!

New nappies (aio or not) need to be pre-washed before use.

    Once (for any nappy)
Three times (if your aio has bamboo for the absorbency)
Eight times (if your aio has hemp for the absorbency fabric).

Minky is fine to wash with all the other nappies (but i would wash a brand new one, separate, the first time).

but MALDEN MILLS fleece is the one you DO wash every time, in a zippered bag, if you want to keep the outer looking nice, remove the need to de-lint it, and keep it looking new. AIO's that use MM fleece for the outer? brands like Kester Kovers by Possum pouches, and i think Genesa Forge too. Widdlewuns?
Night AIO nappies often have an outer of MM fleece windpro (it's very waterproof and breathes well).

There is another style of nappy, called ALL IN TWO. They are great, faster drying time than many true AIO's.

Some AIO's are actually AIO with optional pocket e.g the Magicalls, the swaddlebees.

Some AIO's are actually All in twos, as they have "snap in" boosters.

A TRUE aio is where you don't see the absorbent fabric, as it's all sewn inside the inner of the nappy. Hidden.
