Yes dairy free is not cheap. If you have bloating and stuff like that, I can almost guarantee that you have lactose intolerance (just like me!). Before I went dairy free for ethical reasons I found the zymil and particularly the Liddells (you can get a full fat one in this range) excellent and ALOT cheaper than dairy free options.
I still have dairy in coffee, I just can't get used to anything else. But I got used to oat milk on cereal very easily. I think it's more similar in taste to dairy than the others.
I have found the problem with a2 milk, goat milk, etc is that they have similar protein as cows milk and an allergy/intolerance to the protein is often mistaken for lactose intolerance and since the proteins are so similar, those that react to cows milk will often react to other dairy milk. Ds2 is on soy and we try to give him almond/oat/rice milk but he often refuses them. Luckily if he is refusing all milk, he still takes his mummy milk
