WOW!!! thanks so much for all of the info. I can't believe it. It has really turned me off soy. I wouldn't want to do something that could hurt him in the future We haven't tasted oat milk but will give it a go on the weekend. Are there any potential issues with oat milk?
I'd read somewhere that rice milk has a naturally occurring arsenic in it? Anyone heard of this before? I think it tastes ok, it's great for baking and I've used it in pancakes. Better tasting than soy.
Thanks again for the info. Don't get a chance to research with my 10 month old monkey
Our family has soy because I've never read any actual science that suggests we shouldn't have it in the quantities we do. There are hundreds of bad interpretations of one data set that has since been contradicted, which it seems people have clung onto.
We also have almond milk or protein enriched rice milk.
I just bought the oat milk and it tastes pretty much the same as soy, I'm really liking it I am also going to try Zymil, it's just lactose free and I'm not sure what causes me to bloat in real milk so i guess I'll see what happens...
BTW, rice milk is FERAL. It was so watery and sweet :/
I prefer soy but then I don't drink a whole lot - just in coffee and the occasional bowl of cereal. If you are big consumers of milk then mix it up a little - each milk will have different constituents and variety is usually a pretty good rule of thumb when it comes to nutrition.
