I actually took her to the GP today but he said we just 'have to keep an eye on her to work out what it is'.
I might test her in a few weeks when her hives have gone and she's had a good few days. I will be close by to the hospital and armed with antihistamines. She's been well other than a little swelling and the massive rash of hives. Hopefully that's all it is and we can avoid them from now on (but that SUCKS because hubby and I LOVE mushrooms!).
Just wondering, those of you allergic to mushrooms - are you allergic to cooked as well as raw? Or one or the other?
Do you have any reaction when mushrooms touch your skin and you don't actually ingest them.
I'm a little concerned about DD's reaction as she didn't actually SWALLOW any mushroom, just bit on a raw slice and then spat it all out. It seems very severe considering she didn't actually ingest any, and being almost an hour from the nearest medical help is a tad scary should she have an anaphylactic reaction in the future. :S
