I did something similar in 2010 with a bright orange donkey, which we (DH, myself and two mates) aptly named 'Space Donkey' - and when we all went away on a driving holiday/getaway with said friends, I made a small 'comic strip' up with the photos I'd taken featuring Space Donkey ;) I'm thinking of putting an item in the photos I take that'll be in each photo for the month (eg Space Donkey in the background of a photo of DS one day, next day will be a photo of the house with Space Donkey smelling the flowers etc)

have just uploaded my first two photos. need to make sure i dont get lazy and keep using my phone!
Kim - there's an awesome photographer I love called My 4 Hens Photography and she's started a Flickr group for the challenge using a weekly theme. Add your photos to the group and tadaa!! First weeks word is 'resolution' and you can interpret as you see fit! I really wish I could do the 365.... But last year was an epic fail!!
I am trying the 365 so far. You can find me as Astrolady on the project 365 website. I am expecting the novelty to wear off LOL. Probably when the boys go back to school, but we'll see how we go.
Yep, I getcha. I've had a many times where I was so close to stopping as well as a heaps of times where I was a month behind in uploads but I still took a photo (or 10) a day. I found once I got near half way I knew I could keep going. Good luck. I'm on the countdown and I'm so excited I stuck with it the whole way.
Ladies, what is the actual website? I'm trying to recommend it to a friend...
OP - 365project dot org :)
Still have to take a photo for today, dunno what to do!

yup, what Dreamer said :)
should be fun!
now to just get my mindset into spotting things, and photographing them at the time ...
:)
I've found a few 30 day challenges on Pinterest that I've got up my sleeve for those months where I'm not feeling the enthusiasm.
Thanks Yules....off to have a lookie.
PN I so need my eyes checked. Took me about 3 minutes on the large view to see the missing bits lol.
my first year this year i only have a cheapo camera and zero skill but its a bit of fun - nicole87 :D
I've just started! Still only have a crappy camera until I get my Canon 550D (can't wait!) so my pics will be rather basic til then. I don't have a decent editing program either I just realised lol.
Looking forward to following you all and getting great ideas :) My username is Teeki if anyone wants to check out my piccies, they're basically one a day of DD, mainly will be a great way for me to see her grow!
How exciting Kaytee... when do you get it?
We have to sell our car first. Hopefully that won't take too long! We're going from one big expensive car to two smaller cheaper ones with cash left over, so the camera will be my late Christmas pressie, hooray!!
I reckon I've found most of you, you guys are taking brilliant shots!
I want hubby to hurry up and get home with the dslr! Mine was easy today dd's first day at kinder but not a very arty shot.
Meh, arty schmarty :) I like the ones that just capture a random moment, and a first day at kinder is a good one I reckon!
I'm so not arty, but it is getting me to think of how to portray my life and what are highlights ect...I have an awesome pic of DD and her bestie from today, it is just SO them, but DD buddy is just in her knickers and I wouldn't feel comfy showing that :( So I have one of DD dancing her little heart out instead :D
3lm I know what you mean I had some from the pool of the girls in their bottoms only do would never put it in there.
I have just added a heap of people to follow :)
You guys are all so creative!!
BTW, does anyone have any followers who they have no idea who they are? I have two followers who I don't know who they are and have no friends in common...not that I mind terribly, it's not like I will be posting photos of things I don't want others to see (obviously!!) but just thought it strange that people who have no idea of who I am would want to follow me...??
I'm not accepting anyone if I don't either recognise them, or can figure out who they are reasonably easily ...
So you can choose not to have certain people? How?
oh, I'm thinking of following, sorry :)
if it's someone I know, I go to their thing and I follow them too.
I'm not sure if there's any way of stopping someone from seeing my pics ...
I can't see anything. I guess that's the point of it all, is to show off you piccies!! As I said I don't necessarily mind. I'm not showing anything I wouldn't want ...well... anyone at all to see! I guess it's kind of flattering that a few people think my pics might be entertaining enough to follow without actually knowing me or anything about me!
I don't think you can stop people following you like you can on facebook etc. As far as I know it's totally public. I don't know hardly any of the people I follow or that follow me, I just take it as a compliment that people like my photos enough to follow me :)
Well I haven't actually physically met most of the people who follow me, but I 'know' them through BB. Alot of them I have 'known' for several years now!! So I guess I do know them, just not personally!
I'm finding it really lovely to see these people's lives in pictures too though. To see their kids and hubby's and lives in general, not just read about them!
Ive just joined it might be the motivation to actually use my camera. My name cflife
I'm not actually doing the 365 on the website anymore but am currently doing a 30 day challenge and using instagram (zarava) if anyone uses it and wants a look.
DP thinks i waste a lot of time taking photo's and it's hard to take pics on the camera and find time to upload them all without him knowing :p
It's something i like doing and i will still be taking lots of pics but i wont be actually posting them anywhere, i might have to pop back in and check out the 365 pics of everyone though, i'm sure they are all stunning!
I have just started this year, I am really looking forward to the little daily challenge.
Today's one 'Laugh Lines' can be found here
I will have a look back through at some of the others posted here :)
Have had time to play with my camera today so got some great shots, now to choose one! It's the first time in ages I didn't have all the settings on auto.
[QUOTE=black_rose;3018368 It's the first time in ages I didn't have all the settings on auto.[/QUOTE]
Good for you blackrose!
I just posted my final photos, going to keep going but I'll try not to stress over it as much this time!
I have found and am following some of you :)
Loving all the photos!
I have enjoyed this week putting more of an effort in..not sure if I can keep it up
My favorite so far Hippy Chick
It's been a busy week for me and I havnt put up any photos :( I have taken plenty though.... Lol. I am trying to find the time to use picnik because some if your photos that have been edited look awesome!
Brought to you by from my iPhone :)
I often do that Delph - take one each day but not get the time to actually upload it.
I've been using Picnik for a few of my photos, I love how they turn out! I feel a little bit like it's cheating though, like I'm not actually taking such a fantastic photo, it's just edited. Although I usually just make the colours sharper or the light better, I dunno. I just reckon I'll be taking better shots when I have a better camera that can do more with focus and lighting.
I was trying to play around with apeture- so that I could acheive a blurred background. Anyway- It turns out my camera isn't good enough to do this kind of thing :( I was abit deflated about that :(
I too think that maybe I would over edit a photo. I went into picnik the other day and went abit crazy- there are soo many functions lol. What are your favorite picnik functions?
Delph, I will come back a bit later but what sort of camera have you got? I can do it on my little Olympus point and shoot I'm sure. I'll have a play and see if I can figure it out for you?
Lisa I love your photos.
I have photoshop, but I do use piknik when I'm A/too lazy to open and process properly in PS or B/ just want something a bit fun.
I feel the same though. I want to make them the best they can be, but I also want to get better at taking good photos too.
I also struggle with the wanting to have great photos, but remembering that this is about my life....which isn't all that exciting lol.
My current camera is a Pentax point & shoot, and that can't do apeture or anything either :( But one thing I have learnt is to use the super macro. I used that to get the pic of DDs toes poking out of her hammock, and the one of her sleeping in there with the focus on the butterfly on her sleeping bag.
My fave edits in Picnik are the simple ones really - just making it black & white or sepia, boost to brighten it up, vignette to add a fade-in border (good for getting rid of things on the edge of the pic), and the 'ish' ones - they do the fade-in border and change the photo, make it b&w or brighter or something. Also, with the colour ones, you can add the effect to only some parts of the photo. So for the one of DD napping with the butterfly, I made it black & white, then used the brush to remove the effect on the butterfly only. Had to zoom right in and it took a little while but I like it :)
I've done basically all of mine on the i-phone ... I'm concentrating more on just doing them, and keeping my eyes open for things that look different / unusual / interesting, or which make me think :)
Maybe another year I'll try to make them perdy ;)
My camera is a fujifilm s1600- nothing fancy by any means but it does have settings that allow the shutter speed and apeture to be adjusted. Unfortunatly the apeture setting onlt have 2 settings so I can achieve a blurring background with a close up portrait but I couldnt say focus on a tree in the distance and have the environment around it blurry IYGWIM.
I am not in any way knowledgeable in this area LOL. I have been reading up on stuff online.
Anyway- DH says if I stick to photography for a year or so I can invest in a wizz bang one. Thanks DH
ETA- Kim...my life isn't that exciting either..LOL..I have tried to use this profect as an excuse to get out of the house ON MY OWN for atleast 1/2 hour so I can capture a pic. DH is supportive of it and we do try to fit it in- its uploading them that are the problem lol
Kaytee- do you pay for picnik or use it free? Im just trying to work out if its worth paying for :)
I just use the free version. I don't know either if it's worth paying for, I don't think I'd use the extras enough
I'm another who loves Picnik. My favourite effects are cross process, 1960's and vignette. I'm a tad obsessed! I have photoshop elements but am still learning how to use it, so often find it easier just to use Picnik.
Loving seeing all your photos girls :)
