I've always been a shutterbug My enthusiasm has increased tenfold since I bought my digital SLR camera! Heaps of playing about without wasting heaps of $$$ on film and developing for only one or 2 pics worth using. I still use my trusty old Nikon F60 though, it sounds great when the film winds on!
Most of the time the kids see me get out the camera and bolt out of the room
My favourite subjects besides the kiddies are flowers (one day I'd love to buy a proper macro lens but I'll have to dream for a while longer!) and landscapes. It's a great day when I can combine them.
Sammi I love photography but sadly don't have a really good camera. One day! I am hoping to get a new basic digital one soon as my old one is pretty outdated. I have an old SLR and couldn't remember how to load the film the other day. At the moment, all I seem to do is take pics of the kids .
Oooh, me! I am addicted and have done a few free online courses, and have lots of Adobe software too! Sadly, I only have a little point and shoot (Sony Cybershot 7.2mp), but it takes some great photos while I save for my Canon 400D
During summer we often find parklands/wetlands and go for a bushwalk so I can take lots of photos, love scenery and landscape photos!
I looooove photography - especially portraits and landscape. I have a digital SLR too and it was my best purchase. Plenty of practice with minimal outlay - and the 15c per print make the printing much cheaper too when you do get a good shot!!
Me too I updated to a digital SLR a couple of years ago its a Cannon Eos 300D I also got a telephoto lens. I will shoot almost anything especially wildlife. Like you Sammy I want a nacro lens, need to sweet talk the wife a bit more lol
Love it!! I just work with my compact digital and can still get some good shots. I love taking nature photos so I am wishing for a Digital SLR with a macro lens to get awesome close ups of invertebrates and native flora.
I love photography too. Have a Canon EOS 400D SLR which i have found fantastic. I have done a couple of weddings as well as children and couple portraiture, but i also love just going out and doing landscapes, flowers etc.
I have mainly used a compact camera and done lots of photoshop work and have sold a photo and have many on public display in various places (on internet).
Recently got a "prosumer" camera (half way between normal point & shoot and SLR but with fully manual features).
I love my camera too. I have a Sony H5, it's an advanced compact, so not an SLR, but I'm working up to one eventually. For now though, the H5 does everything I need.
Charlie is incredibly over me taking photos of him though, so I haven't been taking as many as I used to. I do like landscapes and animal photography too, aside from Charlie photos.
Yep, i'm another! We just recently upgraded out digital camera. I have always wanted an SLR though. DH says he will get me one for xmas, i hope so!
I love taking photos of the kiddies of course, but i also like taking photos of animals. I'm going to Melbourne zoo this weekend, so it will be the perfect opportunity to take lots of photos then.
I love photography! it is something my FIL and I talk about for HOURS! I have a digital SLR as well.
I love to photograph anything but portraits and old buildings are my thing. I do a lot of photo's for Mother's Group.
I love photography and I have a Canon EOS 20D. I do some great slide shows with a programme called MemoriesOnTV, I’ve used a few different slide show programs but this would have to be the best and at a good price. I scanned my Mum and Dads old wedding photos and put them in a slide show for them.
Most of my shots are family ones, I have some great car ones (what can I say I’m a guy) and I have an awesome macro shot I took with my old film SLR of a protea.
I also love using the video camera but I haven’t really got into that like my still shots, but with my DD passing she has forced me to learn a little more and start to get into the video editing.
I must say if I didn’t have my digital SLR then there is no way I would have over 1000 photo’s of my darling little Angle.
I'm a copy cat & have the same camera as Alan - Canon EOS 300D. One day I plan on making photography my profession & I have some ideas up my sleeve of what I want to do with it, just need more money & time to organise everything. I'd say it'll be a project once we're finished having kids & they're all at school, so a while yet
I'm definitely into portraiture & especially children. Mum's group get togethers are great for that
I've done two weddings, an engagement party, two pregnancy sessions & Santa photos semi-professionally. All for friends, but as the official photographer for the event.
Wow Sarah Was it nerve wracking doing a wedding?
The births I've done in the last week have been a huge learning curve to say the least! I'd be too scared to encounter a Bridezilla ROFL.
ETA I didn't mention what type of DSLR camera I've got in my first post. It's a Nikon D70s. I've been over at the Nikon website this morning browsing at lenses and I discovered they are releasing some new ones...*sigh* What can I hock to go buy one of those.

The first one was very very laid back. The announcement was made that it was going to be an engagement party at a club & that was it. About 1.5 hours into in the bride disappeared, we told everyone her nephew was sick, because both her, the sister & the nephew left. What actually happened was they were getting changed because they were having a surprise wedding. So for the start it was just hanging out with everyone, I worked with the couple so I knew most of the people there & they were happy for me to take photos thinking nothing of it, no stress there. After that I had to take the official ones & that was a bit scary! This was before I had the digital, so I had my Canon & dad's Nikon, one with B&W film & the other with colour, alternating them throughout the night. Everything turned out really well though.
The second one was another friend from the same workplace about 6 months later. I was in addition to their official photographer as i took photos & made up a slide show that was presented, along with old photos of the couple, during the reception. The worst part with that one was that it was a Sunday breakfast wedding, I had to be there at 7am after going to a very close friend's wedding the night before!!
Oh My Goodness Sarah! My Dad keeps telling me I should do Weddings - but I'm too scared to!!! It was wrenching enough when my friend asked me to do "official" photo's of her bub!
