Have a great time playing with all those settings!! It's not easy to get the camera you want, but I am sure the one you bought will be your new best friend very soon!
Ket us know how oyu go and what you think of it.

Tonight I got my very first dSLR. I've been using a fuji finepix for a few years. It was/is a good camera and has the ability to do some manual control so I've been introduced to manual settings, but I reached the limits of the camera a while ago and have been begging my DH to let me get a dSLR.
I got a Canon 1000d and am very much looking forward to really test driving it tomorrow at lunchtime. I'm lucky to work at a very picturess place with great views so I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do with this new baby.
I really wanted the Canon 450d but our budget couldn't quite stretch that far, but the only major differences between the 450 and the 1000 is the max ISO, the number of focal points and the megapixles (the 450 is a bit better). One day.

Have fun playing with your new toy
I'm sure that by the time you want to upgrade there will be a better improvement on the one you couldn't quite afford any way so it will work out for the best![]()
Wooo Hooo!!!
I love my dSLR, I have a Cannon 400D, bought it a few years ago and it is so much fun, but I have so much to learn about it, I really should do some classes to get the full value out of it
Would love to see some of your photos too!
