None of us are born on or near a cusp, just wanted to thank you for this thread Very nice thing for you to do as a lot of people don't understand cusps and have no idea how to work out their actual sun sign.

I was under the impression anyone born within a few days of the changeover could be more like the the other sun sign than their own?

DS1 was born a day prior to the changeover for his sun sign
That is part of the issue with cusp days. It may certainly appear that way. Such as Hurricane is born on the 20th of April. Generally that is considered Aries. It would be very easy to say that he does display Taurus traits, and this is because he is a Taurus. So in many cases that is probably because they are going by the stock standard "People born on X date are X starsign". Sometimes they are not. Sometimes they are actually Y starsign. DST can add further confusion because a person born at 1:25pm in Sydney may be X starsign, but a person born at 1:25pm in Brisbane are Y starsign because it was actually an hour earlier. Hence why confusion can reign supreme for Cusp day babies. It is also probably how such ideas could come about. A person is either one or the other. The moon and AC also play important parts in who we are and who we show ourselves to be. Sometimes those strong other traits can also come from the AC.

    Hope that helps.

Sun moved into Leo at 1:59 am on that day. Could always double check it is 1:10pm and not 1:10 am, lol. Leo's are quite awesome though.

Thanks, Inertia! I'll have to go and research Saggitarians (sp?) now, because I have no idea what their traits are!

Sun did not move into Taurus until 6:21pm in Auckland, so your DS is still an Aries. Moon in Cancer, AC in Virgo.

    You're welcome, ladies.

Yeah, I have been meaning to come back and explain the three signs further.

In quick, the Sun sign is who we are, our personal identity. How we perceive ourselves and the world.
The AC is who we create, our public face - how the world perceives us.
The moon is the emotional being inside of us, how we react to things, especially in our subconscious.

These are the three most important signs that make up who we are.

Hi inertia, would you mind if it was for me not a child? I was born 23rd of August 1976 330pm in Melbourne and never know which one to read.

You are a Virgo! So you can ignore the confusing dates on horoscopes and read with confidence. Your moon is in Leo and your AC in Aquarius.
