I am new to this forum and would like some help. Isabella is almost 6 months old and has previously been in a DB brace for 10 weeks, this didn't work so she has just had a closed reduction and is in a Hip Spica for 8 weeks. Really tough time for us but she is wonderful and her happy self again after only 3 days. Really would love some suggestions and help about suitable prams. We have a Phil & Teds Vibe but can't seem to fit her in or work out how to. Can anyone suggest a pram that will fit her in a Hip Spica. I realise every baby will be different but would love to hear how everyone else worked out the pram situation.
Can't really help as I have had no experiece with it (although my girl should have been through that process, might have prevented the issues I am having now)
Only suggestion I can think of is go to a baby shop and try Issabella in a variety of prams to see if any work better for you.
Possibly look around for an emmulunga, they are bulky but if they are made he same as they used to be they have a lot of space in the seat section.
my little girl had a closed reduction and hip spica at 7 weeks old. we had a four wheel pram that was quite wide - baby care? is the brand possibly? from baby co. the ot at the hospital padded it out for us so she would have support and it worked quite well. the front bar also came off partially or completely which helped for getting her in and out.
you need something wide! the ot dept at the hospital may be of help. they told us if chloe didn't fit into ours they could lend us one of theirs so maybe speak to them?
hope this helps - i know its a very hard time for you now but soon it will be over and you won't believe it (and people told me this and I went 'yeah right' but it is true!
