Bridg, yep that's it, CDH = Congenital Dislocation of the Hip. With DD1 I had some people that could find it and some that couldn't too, it really depends on their expertise in checking. Her left hip could be totally popped out too, poor little thing But if there is any uncertainty the hip u/s is the definitive way to diagnose it. The treatment is putting the bub in a Pavlik harness, sounds awful but compared to what can happen if it is not treated (plaster, surgery) it is not that bad. DD1 spent 12 weeks in her harness and her hips are perfect now. hoping you won't need the harness.

I'm sure you won't have to hold him down, I understand how hard it would be to have to do that. I never had to hold either of mine down for it, like I said they just laid on their side in the wedge thingie which is soft and looked quite comfy. The worst that might happen is that you might have to hold his little leg still while they do the scan. It is different to having an X ray done - they seem to only do scans on little bubbas - my DD had to be checked again at 18 months and she was X rayed then. She had to lie still on her back for that one, I can't remember if I stayed with her or not - I think so maybe? But I don't remember her being upset by it at all and I didn't have to hold her down either.

Good luck
