My DD2 (4) has always been 'quirky', i am waiting for a OT appointment for a possible SPD assessment.
She gets over stimulated easily, not keen on change, crowds, strange men, loud noises, touch (even from us sometimes...then other times only back tickles will help)...she can just completely shut down when she cannot deal with a situation.
I have learned to deal with her quirks, I know what to do to keep melt downs to a minimum.
But over the last month any blood, even a tiny pin***** on her causes major meltdowns, you can not touch it, wipe it....sometimes a bandaid helps.
She can fall over hit her head but if there is no blood she is fine.
She starts Kindy in a week, first time away from me and I am stressing a little...it is a big change. She is excited about and we have talked about it but I am really not sure how she will go.
Any tips on how to ease her into it and how to talk to her teacher without any diagnoses...just 'quirks'
