Hey hey, how's everyone doing?? I am still <3ing the BLS concept, even more so in the last few days. DD has been referred to a pead for her low body weight and I have gone on the defensive because I know she eats really well. So....I've been keeping a food diary for her. It's actually quite fun and I am so so so amazed at the amount of food she is able to get down in a day. I am also really a bit proud of the variety that she is getting. However, I have noticed that I am probably not feeding her enough meat. We aren't vegetarians but we don't eat alot of red meat at our place. Most of her red meat would be in the form of sausages or mince through bolognese. I'm trying to think of some other ideas to get some red meat into her but so far have only come up with home made sausage rolls which is still just mince and I'd probably chuck in a heap of vegies. Any ideas?
I've also been trying to make a conscious effort to give her some more higher fat foods. She already ate quite a bit of dairy and all full fat foods but once again DH and I tend to eat fairly healthily and don't cook with oils or butter etc. Anyway, cheese is one of my very few vices and I had some left over camembert from home made pizzas the other night. I've tried to give this to her before and she wasn't fussed but today I cut it into cubes and she wolfed down about 1/5th of the round! So that was her extra fat serve for the day - LOL.
I've got some vegie bake in the oven at the moment with some cream, cheese, ricotta and extra milk powder mixed in......hopefully it works out and tastes delicious for her. But there I go again with the non meat foods!
