We did bls with Dd1, if you have the ability to cook, I would do so, even if you are at a hotel, if you have steamed veg or toast or something similar I would do that, I remember the very early days were less about consuming and more about experimenting with touch taste and texture.
I also seem to remember reading something about if you leave it too late it can be problematic...
Do you hit 6 months before leaving? I probably woukd introduce at home if possible... Sorry I'm on my phone and can't look back
