Is this just a toddler phase? He used to eat so well.
So, we have always done BLS with DS, and it has been wonderful. He has always been a really good eater, rarely fussy with foods and always willing to try new things... until recently.
I don't know if this is just a toddler phase that will pass, but just recently DS has become quite fussy with what he'll eat, won't try anything new, and really isn't eating much. It's like he's just too busy to eat, but when I think about the amount he's actually eating (or not eating), I wonder if he's getting enough.
Welcome to toddler hood. Toddlers generally live on fresh air. Part of the explanation is that they grow very slowly in the second year. Apart from that it's just the way toddlers operate.Don't stress too much
Emily is the same S! Did bls as a bub and was great, now some days she will eat so little (like yesterday lol) I just keep offering her a wide range of foods and if she doesn't eat them well I can't force her. It upsets me sometimes but she catches up eventually when I serve up pasta lol and she will always eat brekkie so know she has something on board. Hugs
we used to rave at how well DD1 ate, then she hit this phase and would barely eat anything! it still goes in waves TBH, she'll have a great run of eating everything then have a week or two where she eats like a mouse!
He'll be right hun, all normal, frustrating but normal
Yes, DD1 did this and DD2 is going through it now. I would be surprised if she has gained more than 2kg in the last year as she has really shot up but trimmed down. She also eats virtually nothing but has soooo much energy. They do go back to eating more but they often go through phases where one day they eat heaps then nothing for a week. It's crazy!
We are going through this now... Pie is 17 months, she did get pickier around the 12 month mark but in the last few days has barely eaten anything, I'm starting to stress a bit. She still has plenty of energy though
Yep, my 2yr old is living off air too....I don't know how he keeps going. He's like an energiser bunny without the energy going in! But it's obviously enough or he wouldn't be so healthy!
I know Moo is a bit younger than your DS but he has started this recently & it's driving me crazy!
Things he used to practically inhale are now being completely refused, he'd eat an entire pear but now it just gets spat out & thrown on the floor. He suddenly loved strawberries so I bought 2 punnets, now he won't even touch them! He will only eat certain things if they're not tampered with in any way, such as a whole banana but god forbid if I cut it up! He won't eat anything that he can't feed himself but he can't manipulate a spoon yet so even favs like yogurt are getting thrown out.
I find he'll have a good breakfast & let me feed him his cereal. But the further on in the day he gets the less he eats. This is the kid who was eating more than me
He doesn't seem hungry, just wants to get back to more important things like his trucks! One thing I do though is make something for 'myself', of course he always wants some of Mummy's...
