Went to a food court on the weekend. Sat DD on a regular chair in her fabric harness. Put on the full-body bib that I always have in the nappy bag. We started eating our sushi and rice paper rolls. DD was having a grand old time, eating heaps, and handing her rejects back to me.

A young woman walks over and says "How old is baby?"
Me: 8 months
Her: Oh, and can she use any cutlery?
Me: Oh, she sometimes eats off a spoon.
Her: What about chopstcks? Can she use chopsticks?
Me: Yeah, she's eaten off my chopsticks before.
Her: So you can use cutlery?
Me: Ummmm.... yeah, I can use cutlery.
Her: What about chopsticks?
Me: Yes, I can use chopsticks.
Her: So why are you eating with your hands?
Me: It's sushi
Her: It's just, it's so messy. You should use chopsticks.
Me: I don't mind the mess. We're having a nice lunch.

And she leaves. And sits down. To eat a kebab. WITH HER HANDS.
