Thanks Marcellus, I'll keep it in mind. I'm guessing that if he doesn't eat any cheese now, to just try again later?
Thanks Mel.
See, I'd been thinking bout giving him toast, but thought I shouldn't till he's older cause he wouldn't eat it, but you've reassured me that it's ok to give it to him.
What kind of yogurt do you give her Mel? Just the one you eat? And the crackers, plain ones? Not like Sakatas? Things like Salada crackers?
Oh, and I was advised to get Arrowroot biscuits, any other ideas?
I had noodles in a bowl a few days ago, and I gave him a couple and even though he made a mess of them, he looked like he enjoyed them
Like all things, just keep offering till they accept it. It often takes quite a few goes before they'll eat some things. And then they'll love it one week and then refuse it the next.
On bickies and things I'd just suggest avoiding very sweet or salty things. They don't need the seasoning and you just end up giving them a taste for it. We gave DS lots of rice and corn cakes as snacks, as they're pretty much just rice or corn.
Instant noodles are one of DS' favourites. Oh, we tried to keep him on natural, whoel foods when he was little... well that sure did go out the window.
Toast is one of the first foods I give my kids, either with vegemite, hommus, avocado - anything but Jam and peanut butter. Yoghurt, I just give her the kids ones - but not the baby ones cos they're just a rip off. I figure yoghurt is yoghurt, but a lot of people just give natural yoghurt with hardly any sugar. I'm on my 3rd kid so I'm pretty lax about some things
Biscuits - she has ginger nut biscuits (loves those), milk arrowroot, teddy bear biscuits - um, and crispbread, or premium crackers - she's not really fussy - and neither am I.. LOL
I gave her watermelon for the first time today and she loved it. So fruit is always a big YES in this house. She loves fingers of fruit, so like pear, watermelon, rockmelon, banana - kiwi fruit is a bit too slippery yet. LOL
lol lj dnt worry about th mess, it can be cleaned.
we dont even put izzys breaky/lunch/dinner or snacks on a plate, it goes straight on her tray! even spag bol, which gets smished into the tray, her face, hair, clothes and eventually on the floor!
she has so much fun playing with her food we dnt care
