I love the singer, Sia. Her music is awesome. So I guess it has good connotations for me, therefore I like it
For ages, my sister pronounced it 'Sha' until we heard her name being pronounced 'see-ah' on the radio, LOL.

There's a beautiful song called "Breathe Me" by an australian singer called Sia! She's getting a (tiny) bit more popular now and her newer stuff is a little more quirky, but she has a gorgeous voice and I think it's a gorgeous name!

thankyou all so much for your opinions + input. i really love the singer Sia, and thought it was such a lovely, unusual name! (although it could be short for something else?)
i would pronounce it 'See-ah' . not sure if we'll go with it yet.. still a few months to decide, but its definatley on the short list.

    It's a great name!

My name is Sia too. It means "first daughter" in the Kono language spoken by the Kono people of eastern Sierra Leone (my father's tribe). You may want to consider that when choosing the name.

Sia is beautiful. Less common than Mia, but I doubt they'll be confused because M and S sound completely different.
