Very cute, it means pebble in French, and I think it's also a term of endearment.

It does mean however that your child may be left explaining the pronunciation/spelling of their name for the rest of their life, as the "ll" sound in french is pronounced a hard "y_" dipthong and we have no equivalent in English.

we must do!! ever since i seen the cartoon i have been inlove for a long time!! Trying to convince my DP to like it, this is providing i have another boy lol

    i love unusual names!!

Marydean- i dont mind jinxing my son to have to spell and pronounce his name, my son already will have to tell people his name cause of the spelling

i named him Zachary but it's spelt Zakari (Zak-a-ri) he generally get (Za-kari)

So do I. My others are Aricyn, Mehkelti and Eden (which is the most normal one!)

And we always have to spell Aricyn and Mehkelti to people.

I'm not a big fan of it but I'm not a fan of the cartoon and I know a yippy nippy little dog with that name. I think it's one of those names that grows on you.

    Arimeh love your childrens names!

My DP aint into unusual names especially pronounciation but he doesnt care about the spelling but he will get use to different names cause i hate boring names that are used alot! Ever since i was little i have always been the type to love different spellings and different pronounciations

... i absolutley love the sound of Ky-you but i feel it would be a life sentence for the child in having to correct it with 'most' people for the rest of their life, i straight away thought it would have been pronounced Ky - Loo, so sorry if it was me personally it would drive me nuts

... very true as my own DD has an unusual name (but then so do i sort of) and yes i too believe lots of people do grow to like it

i truly believe as a parent to go with the name you ' love the most ' for your bubba-to-be, especially if it's a name the sits within your heart you will know that feeling and know it's the right name (hope that makes sense )

Coming from someone who has a normal name but spelt different and has to spell it out to everyone she meets/talks to... i dont like. it. Unless its spelt the way it sounds.

my sons names are Nixon & Tyron which are not out there but not very common, i say if you love it go for it! (keep working on dh!)
I have never seen the cartoon so from the spelling i would not know how to pronounce but hey there are many names ppl need to spell for ppl! I have a reasonably simple surname but am always spelling it!
