Coming from someone who has a normal name but spelt different and has to spell it out to everyone she meets/talks to... i dont like. it. Unless its spelt the way it sounds.
my sons names are Nixon & Tyron which are not out there but not very common, i say if you love it go for it! (keep working on dh!)
I have never seen the cartoon so from the spelling i would not know how to pronounce but hey there are many names ppl need to spell for ppl! I have a reasonably simple surname but am always spelling it!
I think even with a normal name like mine (Georgina) has to be spelt everytime anyway. Sometimes people can't pronounce it either. So I don't think being an unusual name makes any difference.
I was having this conversation with hubby the other day while Aaliyah was watching this cartoon, and how I liked the name, but how it might feel a bit silly naming a baby after a cartoon. I love it, but hubby thinks its ridiculous, so its off our list of names for the next bub.
I think its a lovely name, and the pronounciation and spelling, well people will learn it as they do anything, and you might be suprised how many people DO get that French way of saying it and spelling it. The first time I saw the cartoon I pronounced it right, before I even heard them say the name.
