I think Lincoln might go better with your surname as Archie Ch......... might be a bit many "ch" in a row IYKWIM?
Hello there,
So we're pretty sure we're going to go with Archie (Archer on birth cert), but then we also like Lincoln. It's a bit of a late contender, what do you guys think?
We have a son Felix and our surname begins with 'Ch' and is two syllables.
Thanks all!

I was going to say Archie, but then I agree with MrsMac, 2 Ch's might be a bit much... So then I say Lincoln
i vote Lincoln!
DS middle name is Lincoln but its a family name, i love archer too but argee with the girls Archer Ch sounds a bit too much but in the end its whatever you like!
As the mother of an Archie, I vote Archie!
I love Archie but DH had an Uncle Archie so it's off our list - so unfair! cos it's a beautiful name! Love the formal Archer and nn Archie. Just gorgeous.
I worked with a Lincoln & he was nn "Linc" and I liked his but I didn't really like his name...
Thank you! It's a good point, the whole 'ch' sound being repeated. I've asked a few friends about that as I was worried too, but they said our surname would be okay (or maybe they were just being polite?) It's a 'Cha' sound and somehow the 'a' that follows the 'ch' helps soften it? (Am aware I am sounding a bit loony here, analysing letters!)
Would love more honest feedback, so thanks so far and please keep your thoughts coming!
I have an Archie too! I love his name sooo much!
Archer nn Archie was number 1 for me if bub was a boy so I vote Archie, I love it! I know someone who just had a boy and named him Lincoln nn Link, very cute!
I think it's fine with a ch surname if it was say Archie Chambers or something it sounds cool to me! A funky little cool dudes name, haha ok that's it from me I think it's very clear I love the name![]()
Surprisingly Archie Chambers isn't too far from our surname! Loving the cool dude interpretation!![]()
As another mum of an Archie I vote for that, I have a Charlie and and Archie and got comments about both having "ch" sounds but I don't care...I love the names. Though I must be really honest and say I see both Archie & Archer as two separate names. I would go one or the other, I wouldn't think to nn Archer. But perhaps that's just me. I am a fan of calling the name you want. We tossed up between the two and it was Archie that we both loved.
I like Archie and I was thinking Archie ChandlerI knew a not very nice Lincoln so I wouldn't vote for that, but I didn't mind the name before I met him.
LoVE the name Archer!!!!! It's a beautiful name!
Archer Cha should be fine!
Yep, I still often get compliments on Archie's name. He is named after his Dad's Scottish Grandfather. So we have Archie and Old Arch
Archie vote from me too! And I'm adding it to my list for future babies!!
