I'm so sorry Ali...but that is way too funny! I dont have any suggestions, except I really like Barnaby and it goes well with Hand.
I know its not supposed to be funny but now I have the giggles!

I sort of think as well, that politicians don't stick around forever. I mean, what, PM's are around for a few years, but by the time he hits late primary school/early high school and starts to know who politicians are, will Barnaby Joyce still be around?

Minimax PMSL at Scissor, I guess we should rule out Edward too!! Darcy would you believe was on both DP and my list, but we then decided it was too 'poncy'. But if Barnaby's not poncy I don't know what is!!

Minimatron laugh away, I'm laughing too - probably because Hand isn't MY name!!!

Nelle, I know what you're saying about pollies not being around long. Why look at the Federal opposition! But I have a 'feeling' about Barnaby Joyce - that and Murphy's Law.

AND I always think of a lovely Kiwi girl I used to work with called Abba. While it really suited her, she was given hell at school! She was born in the 1970's and she often was asked about the background to her name:
    Dad: Let's call her Abba
    Mum: ABBA?!
Dad: Yeah, it's a Norse name
Mum: But what about that band, ABBA?
Dad: What? Nobody will remember them in another couple of years!!

    LOVE THAT STORY!!

I have a friend called Barnaby, we all call him Barney - and I really like it - I wouldn't worry about the politician - doesn't seem to matter what you name a baby someone will link it to someone you are not keen on but usually is only the odd person.

You know what wysiwig and Nelle and others, you're right.

    It IS a good name.

AndI should just take the (small) risk.

At least he can use Barnaby or Barney depending on whether he is being teased about conservative politics or big purple dinosaurs.

OK I'm back on the Barnaby Bandwagon!

    Thank you xo
