Are there any particular bible characters you can relate to?

We weren't necessarily determined to use a biblical name for our son, but my husband really liked Samuel (and our surname begins with an M, so he wanted a middle name that started with an A to go with it). I was a bit blah about the name at first, until I read the passage in the bible that introduce Samuel and his name.

Samuel was the son of an infertile woman... after all our IVF treatment, I thought that was pretty appropriate! It means "asked for" which is also appropriate as we spent a long time in prayer asking God for him.

If you can find a name like that, which has special meaning for you, it makes the name choice so much easier.

BW, That is gorgeous! Noah means restful and peaceful or rest and peace and we just felt that's who he was from the time I was pregnant with him. He is Noah James so 2 bible names for him. Was just really sure that was his name, was even thinking of the baby I was preg with as Noah James before we found out that sex.

He certainly lives up to the meaning of the name, just who he is!

I'm Naomi Catherine which I think sounds pretty good so feel free to use that. I think it means Pleasant and pure when used together.

Would love to but one of my nieces is Naomi

Rebecca/Rebekah is also out as I have a couple of good friends with that name and it's already too confusing!

I showed DH my lists and he really liked Shiloh for a girl, and I really like it too. Would you be put off by the Brad and Angelina connection?

I'm really liking Levi for a boy but we already have a Lee and a Liam in the family (my BIL's, one on either side of the family) and I'm not sure if it sounds too similar? I really like Ezra too but I've always wanted everyone to have different initials. Do you think I just need to get over it? DH thinks I'm being silly.

Levi is one of my very fav boys names. I dont think its too similar to the names you mentioned.

Ezra is really cool! I kinda understand about the initial thing though. Sorry not much help am I!

Shiloh is such a beautiful name - Brangelina wont always be in the news every 5mins so I say go for it!

    I love the name Levi.
We have a lot of kids at school with biblical names- one family has Josiah, Noah, Isaac and Eve!! Another has Reuben, Barnabas and Jonah.
