I picked Tobias with the idea maybe Toby will be the nn?
I say if you love the nickname just go with that name. We are going with a girl's name that we absolutely love the nickname of, but don't like the long name quite as much as the nick name - if that makes sense.
I like Tobias *and* Toby![]()
My philosophy is to put the full name/traditional name on the birth cert and just call the child the nickname from birth if that's what you likeThat way, when they're adults, they might have an easier time of it if they want to 'grow up' and use their 'full' name instead - eg William/Billy, Katherine/Katie, kwim?? I think for things like job interviews etc, employers are more likely to take an application from an Elizabeth more seriously than they would a Bethie, but that's just me. I personally am Donna-Lee on my birth cert and was known as such until my late teens when I insisted on 'dropping' it, now everyone just knows me as Donna and I'm much happier with that
I like both Tobias and Toby so no worries there!
Love Isaac!! I suggested it to hubby but he said noI have never heard of Tobias, but Tobi is a cute nickname. I personally wouldn't choose it but it's unique
