To me they are different names. I used to know a Peirs - pronounced Peerz, whereas Pierce is like Pierce Brosnan or to pierce something with a skewer IYKWIM.

I agree with Mummy Tummy - only because I met a Peirs (pronounced Peerz) - although I think it was spelt Piers.

Overall though, sweetie - its your name & your baby, so you do whatever you think

    oh I like this thread

    Peerze?

the second e would have to be hyphoneated so would have a liitle do dab " above it so it still sounded like the original version..I just cant put it on here (takes to much thinking space)

Slightly surprised no-one's suggested Pearce yet! Would that spelling work for you?

Well so long as you're okay correcting people if they say it different to how you want - I say spell it the way you want to! A lot of people pronounce my name wrong but I've grown so used to it I automatically correct as they speak - it's especially funny if they're talking at me and not listening, I end up repeating myself a lot until they go "Whaaaaat?" It's just one of those things for me, no big deal. Just keep the spelling consistent lol - My mum was really tired when I was named, so when the nurses asked how to spell it, she reeled off what sounded right off the top of her head. Then spelt it differently in all the birth announcements to family The spelling the nurses took ended up being the way it's been spelt since then (apart from people who seem to go off what the birth announcement said 23 years ago!)

... Oh dear, I've made this about me. I'm sorry. I was attempting to give you a boost lol

I like Pierce. I think if you went with Piers he would constatntly get Piers - as in the plural of pier.

I'd swap the i and e around so it's Piers, but other than that I can't think of any other way to spell it I think I prefer that spelling to Pierce...

Yeh that. Id be worried peirs would get 'py-ers'
It all depends on how you want the name pronounces, as Piers would have be 'peers' where Pierce has a harsher sound to it.
