when we had DD1 ( Grace ) her name wasn't around hardly at all, but now its quite common, in the hospital when we had her there were 6 others who named their baby girls the same, and my mum had another 7 women who had become grandmothers at work over a period of 3 months have their grand daughters named Grace too LOL

OH you should still use it..its gorgeous!!!!!!

We picked a fairly uncommon name - Mateauz (normally spelt Mathias)...we thought we were safe.

Ive meet one girl...said the same and almost spelt the same and 2 boys but with the normal spelling and I live in a country town!!!!!

    BUT

we've never meet another Wilhelm (yet)

Thanks Rowellen! Those sites were awesome! We love the name Sophia Eleni too, but when you hear it so much on the TV (Fox, and thanks to rowellan, in america Sophia is in the top 5 LOL) no wonder we've been hearing it so much ...

I guess its just one of those pet peeves tho lol

I take it no one likes our boy names?

Sigh...DH and I have always picked names we liked for DS, DD and now for Number 3 without looking at lists or anything, and each time have found out after we had our hearts set on them that they were all in the Top 10 or 20 baby names for that year.

But we couldn't change our minds despite that, we'd picked the names ourselves and we loved them regardless.

So my kids are bound to double up first names with someone somewhere. But that doesn't particularly bother me because I grew up with a very unusual surname and somewhat uncommon first name and I got so sick of correcting the spelling and pronunciation that I craved a nice, ordinary name. I actually think that giving popular, conventionally spelled names is doing them a favour in my book. They might not though!

I totally agree. But it's amazing how many people get the "easy" names wrong anyway lol!
