Looks like the middle name will be Maria, in honour of a family member that passed in janauray.

So......Isobel Maria possibly... Though we aren't sure 100% of the first name yet (men!)

I really like that name and the spelling is unique & very pretty. I think it's a beautiful thing to do, to honour a loved one who has passed away, in your child's name. Best of Luck xoxo

I really like Isobel and that spelling too, I couldn't pick it myself because have an aunty called Isobel but I had thought about it because as a child I loved the poem Adventures of Isabel by Ogden Nash.

    Adventures Of Isabel

    Isabel met an enormous bear,
    Isabel, Isabel, didn't care;
The bear was hungry, the bear was ravenous,
The bear's big mouth was cruel and cavernous.
The bear said, Isabel, glad to meet you,
How do, Isabel, now I'll eat you!
    Isabel, Isabel, didn't worry.
    Isabel didn't scream or scurry.
She washed her hands and she straightened her hair up,
Then Isabel quietly ate the bear up.

Once in a night as black as pitch
Isabel met a wicked old witch.
the witch's face was cross and wrinkled,
The witch's gums with teeth were sprinkled.
Ho, ho, Isabel! the old witch crowed,
I'll turn you into an ugly toad!
    Isabel, Isabel, didn't worry,
    Isabel didn't scream or scurry,
She showed no rage and she showed no rancor,
But she turned the witch into milk and drank her.

    Isabel met a hideous giant,
    Isabel continued self reliant.
The giant was hairy, the giant was horrid,
He had one eye in the middle of his forhead.
Good morning, Isabel, the giant said,
I'll grind your bones to make my bread.
    Isabel, Isabel, didn't worry,
    Isabel didn't scream or scurry.
She nibled the zwieback that she always fed off,
And when it was gone, she cut the giant's head off.

    Isabel met a troublesome doctor,
He punched and he poked till he really shocked her.
The doctor's talk was of coughs and chills
And the doctor's satchel bulged with pills.
    The doctor said unto Isabel,
Swallow this, it will make you well.
    Isabel, Isabel, didn't worry,
    Isabel didn't scream or scurry.
She took those pills from the pill concocter,
And Isabel calmly cured the doctor.

We have two names on our list for this baby and one of them is Isabelle (preferred spelling). I think Isabelle Grace sounds beautiful...DD1s name is Grace so a no go for us but if her name wasn't Grace that would be perfect (and I wouldn't be having so much trouble trying to work out a suitable middle name!).

Well it seems my partner is not keen on the name. So her name will now be Cara. Cara means "darling" or "dear one" in Italian. Or "friend" in celtic.

And she will have the middle name Maria after her italian Grandad (Nono) that died in January. One of his middle names was Maria (after his Mother?).

I still like the name Isobel though.....I hope you girls get to chose it for a name.

Isobel is the Scottish form of Isabelle/Isabella. My DD's middle name is Isobel, because we wanted to honour our Scottish heritage (and DH is Scottish and my family has Scottish origins)

So yes, I do like the name Isobel
