    Elisse?

We still haven't finalised our girl name options - but thought of this last night - what do you think of Elise but with two s's - "Elisse"?

How would you pronounce that? eh-LISS? eh-LEESE? eh-LISS-eh? Sounds pretty to me any way. My DD1 is Elyse. (eh-LEESE) We thought it was a name that was unique without being weird, and feminine without being too "girly", IYKWIM. Lot's of people have commented on it in a positive way, and I can't think that I've ever met another little girl with that name IRL.

We would pronounce it just like the regular Elise - (eh-LEASE)

I prefer Elise - Elisse could get confused with Elissa too easily IMO.

My daughter's middle name is ELISE ... after my younger sister Elise

I don't mind it with double S... as i know my sister often got some people read it like Elsie ... which drove her nuts

My only concern is some people might think it's a miss spelling with the double S !!

Also i agree with Nai that some might think it's Elissa !!??

I love the name TRELISE too

I love Trelise too but DH isnt keen
Elissa is actually my name which is why I thought of the double s! We would probably only use Elisse as a middle name anyway

Ah ok then that would be confusing if you are Elissa but as it would be a middle name I think it would be ok with that spelling.

I love the name but would stick to the traditional spelling. It would save your daughter a lifetime of having to correct people on the spelling of her name.

In that case, you should just spell it Elise. I want to pronounce Elisse more like E-liss than eh-LEASE. Others have pointed out that it looks like Elissa and people might assume that it's a typo of that.
