My first thought was Grover Cleveland... so there you go! And I can think of worse US Presidents to share a name with.
Not sure if I would use it, but it is kinda cool.
We have a very close friend whose surname is Baxter, so that is invariable what we call him, but his son's name is Blade

My immediate reaction was Sesame street but that's not such a bad association.
Oscar definitely seems to be very popular ATM at least among the people I know.
Hi meow![]()
I am very please to see this thread. A couple of days ago, I actually re-read your boys name thread from last yearI was looking for inspiration. It was a nice trip down memory lane too.
I remember you liking Grover then too, and I have to say, it has definitely grown on me. I also think of blue, lovable furry Grover, but that isn't a bad or negative connotation.
Many children carry the name of kids TV characters - Thomas, Rory, Angelina, Maisie, Peppa, etc. Your Grover will grow in to his name and it will be hard to imagine him as anything else. It has nature connotations which I like - no different to Cedar or River (common names in my neck of the woods).
What nn's would you use?
Also -off topic I know - I was wondering how you feel about Felix's name now - a year after naming him? Reading the old thread made me feel that he was always meant to be Felix.
Oooh, I really hope you have another bub!
I like reading that thread too- personally I think there are some great names in there! I need to have 10 boys to name them all!
I think Grover is a lot like River, but just a little differentI kind of like the Grover association- Super Grover is the coolest guy on SS! I've call him Grove and Grovie most the time I think. I was wondering if Grove might be a better name?
I LOVE Felix's name, including his middle name. His name means Happy Fire and it is him to a tee. This has been such a hard year and he has been the ray of happy light in our lives. I just couldn't have been without him and his name seems like it came with him. Just meant to be.
do you have a link to your boys name thread?
I really like itMy first thought was actually the movie with Scarlett Johansen - the one where she is a nanny (can't remember the name of the movie though). Totally love the name!
i prefer Baxter over Grover.
i like X in a name, i think its strong and wouldnt think it would matter if you had 2 X names as they are not similar names or anything
I love the name and would consider useing it myself if I have a boy
I prefer Grover over Baxter I think, a bit different. Personally not one I would use myself, but one I would hear and say "oh that's cool". I must admit though, a bit more difficult to imagine an adult with that name, although LOAD S of names are like that and when they're adults i don;t think it's ever an issue.
