Talking OK - finally - our names...

We know the sex and we have a named picked (have been calling bubs this name since we found out sex) - but thought I would share our name picks anyway

    Boy
    Talan James
    Brayden Riley

    Girl
    Tahlia Paige
    Kaylee Grace

We have picked Talan James for our boy - but have the others as back ups just incase
We hadnt shared our boys name because I couldnt be bothered with some peoples reactions... but I knew I was safe here!
I did go through the names again with my mum on Easter weekend and she said she didnt like Talan (she doesnt know what we are having or thats the name we have chosen). It does upset me abit that people say they dont like the name - but too bad! We are set on it.
Makes me feel abit bad though, they will feel guilty for the things they have said when we announce it!
The few reactions we have found from 'Talan' are... 'Thats RAT poision' or 'Isnt that an EAGLES claw?' LOL
I just say 'No - its spelt T-A-L-A-N'... lol

    What does everyone think?!

I really like Talan, and if ur mum loves her grandson, then she will learn to accept that is the name his parents have carefully and lovenly chosen for him.
She will just see a beautifully bubba, and forget that the name was not her cup of t.
Congrats hunni and all the best.

Sorry, I don't like it for those reasons.

But....if you like it, then that's all that matters! That's part of the reason why I didn't share names IRL before DS arrived, I really didn't want to know if they liked it or not.

I think people would be incredibly rude to say something to you once your baby is born.

I love your boys name and I know 2 little boys with those names
Talan is different but I honestly think it will get popular
Brayden is gorgeous but Im biased-its my cousins names!

Finding boys names is very hard. We are thinking of Ryder for our son and so far my side of the family loves it, not sure what DP's side thinks but I dont care. I love the name and they will learn to live with it!!

Your girls name are gorgeous aswell

I love Talan and for goodness' sake, DON'T tell your family your potential names! Better to tell them afterwards, trust me!

Geez, you are game telling anyone, ... We chose against telling a single sole as we didn't want a negative outcome from anyone before bub was born including my own Mum ... if you knew my Mum it would be a painful experience (didn't need that stress whilst pregnant) !!

I like Kaylee ... and Talan could grow on me

... Have you thought of Kaylee Paige or Paige as a first name ?? ... it's pretty !!

    hi ms bb,
if your mum is anything like mine, she will deny that she dissed it and declare that she was the one who thought of it! lol. she probably just isn't ussed to it, so don't worry too much.

and like the others say. you name your bub for you, don't worry too much about other people as someone will always have something awful to say and someone will always love it. so long as two people are happy, you and dh, you're set.

for the record thou i like it, i think its a good strong name for a boy.

I quite like Talan - although admitedly the claw factor does spring to mind.
What about Calan/Callan? I know a guy with that name & he is lovely. You could also spell it Kalan....?
I do prefer Brayden, and I would choose Brayden James from your name list!! They are two of my favorite boy names.

I like both of your girls names, although I think Tahlia is more sophisticated, and Kaylee looks and sounds a little more girlish. Maybe its the spelling. I think Kailey Grace looks better. Either way, it's a sweet name. Keep in mind that the name Tahlia is likely to skyrocket in popularity after the apprearance of ballet dancer finalist Talia on 'so you think you can dance'. Just a personal prediction of mine.. Love the name Tahlia though...
Either Grace or Paige is nice. They both have the same 'ay' sound to them.
