How do you pronounce Luciana?

Lucy-ana or the Italian way, Lu-chi-ana?

I am liking this name, but I prefer Lucy-ana. However my DH is Italian and his family would pronounce it Lu-chi-ana.

Its the name of Matt Damons wife, I just saw her name mentioned and thought it was a beautiful name. She is Italian, so I assume she pronounces it Lu-chi-ana. Which is lovely, and fitting for my DH and his side of the family. But I just dont know seeing as I am not Italian myself, but I definately have an Italian last name these days lol.

Limeslice how does your friend pronounce it?

Also DH's late grandmother was Lucia (Lu-chia) so thats why I know his whole family would say Lu-Chi-Arna. I guess it doesnt matter a whole heap really.

I pronounce it "Lu-shi-arna" when I see it. Pretty name either way!

Oh gosh, so many different ways to say it lol! I guess it doesnt matter, our DD's name gets pronounced wrong quite often and it doesnt bother me one bit. She would probably get Luci 99% of the time anyway, as we have shortened our DD's too.
