    Hunter, Boy or girls name?

My husband really liked this name for a boy until I told him that it is a girls name as well.

When I hear it I don't think of a girl I think boy, what does everyone else think?

    Thanks

Boy, and I know a little boy called Hunter. To me, there's no way it's a girls name!

Far too masculine for a girl IMO and I only know boys named Hunter.

    Easy - boy!

I've never heard of it as a girls name.

Having said that, to me, my DS name (Hayden) and other names like Cameron, Leighton, Blake, Riley are definately boys names but there are girls out there with those names.

I know 2 boys and 1 girl with the name and I think its definatly a BOYS name.

The person I know off with a girl apparantly had picked name from time she found out was preg and was using for either sex. To me its very masculine and strong name.

The actress who plays Taylor on Bold and the Beautiful is called Hunter Tylo (I wish I didn't know these facts!) but when I think of the name I think boy.

I was thinking the same, but almost thought do I want to admit to knowing that.
I have a cousin named Hunter and could never imagine used for a girls name. It is just to masculine.

I think the defination of the word is definately masculine as in a hunter is a person who hunts. Traditionally, this is male role.

JMO, I don't like the trend to use boys names for girls overly much. Especially when it is hard enough to find good boys names without them being turned into girls names. My name is like that & it bugs me. My DH got asked if he was me when someone rang recently and he answered the phone. When I was little, I used to add -Anne to my name to make it more feminine.
