I've never thought about shortening it either (not that Willie is really shorter). Willow is lovely.

My brother's name is Christian and he's managed to go 26 years without it ever being shortened to Chris. My mum tried but dad wouldn't have it and my brother has always corrected anyone who's called him Chris. People are generally pretty respectful when it comes to nicknames.

I dont think Willow would get shortened to anything. William yes, but not Willow, i think it would just always be Willow.

I think its a name thats like my DS name, Roman, that doesnt seem to get shortened to anything, its always Roman, if hes called a nickname its something totally different like little man or buddy.

I agree with all the others - its a great name, and I don't think it would be shortened to anything.

i was worried about people calling DD2 Edie (and I hate hate hate the name) but they don't - only my mother and I am quick to correct her that Noooo her name is Eden.

She also calls DS "Ari" and I hate that too.. LOL...
