My girls both have longer names. Jaz has always been called Jazmyne, but Brianna has been Bri since she was 4 months old. & thats what everyone calls her.
DH was really against calling Jazmyne Jaz when others did it, but was over it by the time we had Bri. Its still awkward for me to say Jaz, but I do sometimes.
Just remember that most names will be shortened unless the child or parent demands that its not. Even Bri's daycare teachers call her Bri.
I do agree that Olly won't be great on a 30 year old biker with tattoo's Or a highly professional lawyer TBH. Sorry
