    Hmmm, no nothing so far! I love Martha but I don't think it is Mary enough, I would just end up calling her Martha I think.

    I have a family friend who, whilst I was growing up, I thought was "Marilena", but it is Maria Elena. Variations on this misunderstanding could be Marielena or Marialena.

    Except we have a lady at playgroup pronounced 'mar -see- a' lol so it took me a couple seconds to realise this joke lol

    Its a scottish spelling for Mary. (and in scots, it is pronounced Vah-ree)
