I just came across a name in another forum that I haven't heard anywhere else. (and that forum is North American so you're pretty safe... ) Not an X name, but I still thought it was cool: Orion. I thought it might be nice that he could go by the full version if he wanted to be unique, or shorten it to Rion (Ryan) if he wanted a little more "common sounding" name.

Re: Looking for VERY unique boys names

    On my list I had

    Cash
    Nate
    Xander
    Tate
    Leo
    Banjo

And DH had Ryder but I didn't like that!

We ended up naming our babe Archie.... It wasn't on our list but he just looked like an Archie and I'm so glad we chose it, it really suits him!

This time round we like Sonny for a boy and Lola for a girl...... So far!!

I knew an Orion in primary school, it's an awesome name but for me I always think of that boy. His brother was Casper so two cool names

I LOVE Lola- that would be my second daughter's name if I was going to have one

Duke wouldn't work for us with the KE end of the name- but it is cool.

I've added Zareth to the list- already had Zenith (love Zen for short!)- thanks!!

go with an X in there i say!!

My son is Nixon and the X is very powerfull and strong. i remember all the nurses etc when he was born saying how much of a strong name it was, Im with you i prefer for the name to not be in the popular name list, but you never know how a name will take off or die down do you....but id probably go with a name that i know at the time wasnt too popular
Another bonus i have learnt now he is 4 and learning how to spell his name etc, he recognises his X is words because its not seen as often so it stands out!!

I'll have a look for that X thread there was some real good ones in there!

We loooove Z names too... on our list originally we had...

Zenth (love Zen for short, my partner is still mentioning this one)
    Zennon
    Zavix
    Zennon
    Zyden
    Zven
    Kaizen
Zabian (my fave until I made up the one we are going with!)

    Good luck!!

Someone suggested Gage, which I love... though that's the name of the little boy that dies in Pet Sematary... I'm sure not that many people will recognise it though!

How about Omri? It's the name of the boy out of the children's book 'The Indian in the Cupboard' which I LOVED when I was young. Sigh, I may use the name Omri myself, gosh I just adore it. I worry though about my surname mixing poorly with it 'Omri Morrison'. Seems like so many 'o's and 'm's and 'r's and 'i's!!

Good luck choosing a name, isn't this FUN?

I've been considering Gage as a middle name as my Mum's middle name was Gaye and they sound very similar. Thanks for the associations- I like having film & book references

I'm loving Pax at the moment. I like Paxon but I love Pax more... just not sure given it's Ange & Brad's sons name. But you don't hear about him much and celeb kids aren't always in the news. ANd even if he is famous when my son is grown up then that'll be one famous Pax- not that bad

Oh yay, Aricyn got a mention bahahaha!!!

Just incase you wanted to keep the scandinavian trend going on - Aricyn is Scandinavian as well - its just spelt Aricin over there - I loved it with a "y" instead.

Other names we had on our list:
    Macarian
    Zephryn
    Sirius

Ummm can't remember what else - I'd have to find my thread.. LOL
