Middle name for a Boy needed NOW!

So, DH and I had pretty much decided on a full name for Aristotle. We've decided on a first name, but DH told me the other day that he's now not so sure about the middle name - so we're revisiting the issue!

My EDD is in 3 days! So we need some help and feedback please.

The first name will be ARCHIE unless we have some last-minute change of heart or Baby just doesn't look like an Archie.

The surname is two syllables, starts with a J.

    The names we've considered are:

Archie George (this was the final name we had decided on originally)
    Archie Che
Archie Ryan (my nephew's name is Ryan, so not sure if that's too much?)
Archie Earl (a name used in my DH's family)
Archie Daniel (DH's middle name, but also the name of my ex-boyfriend )
    Archie Max
    Archie Thomas
    Archie Noah

Your opinions would be appreciated - the good, bad and ugly. Any other suggestions for middle names would be good too.

I think George flows nicely, but I also really like Noah and Thomas....the others just don't flow for me.

    Good luck!
(my DS wasn't 'named' officially until 50 days after his birth - i understand your stress)

I personally like Earl - he will be embarrassed by it no doubt but what a cool middle name! Esp if has bee in DH's family.

You could always not have a middle name - my boys don't have middle names, nor do I.

    I like Noah or Thomas.
Archie Max and Archie Che kind of flow into each other so sound a bit odd in my opinion.

From your list, Archie Thomas is my fave. Also as PP mentioned, I think Archie James is nice, but agree it depends on how it goes with your surname.

Good luck sweetie, cant wait to see your BA

Aww Archie is gorgeous! So excited for you hun

I like all your choices (I presume Che is pronounced like Che Guevara?)
I also played with the middle name George but DH decided he didn't want it (and its a family name) to my disappointment.

I think you have some lovely choices there.

A couple of other middle names for you

    Harrison/Harry
    Ben
    Oliver
    Luke

    Best of luck!

Che, while completely awesome as a name, is no good. Too much CH-CH sound. But, ummm, can I have it?
Earl is great. Nick Cave's son is Earl.
Thomas rolls soooo well, depending on how much S there is in your surname. Probly my fave.
Daniel flows quite well, but for the reason you've posted I'm reluctant to use it.
Ryan... meh. Sounds nice enough, but I'm ambivalent on it.
George, although a great name, is not high on my list. I don't like the CH and G/J sound together.

    That's what I think.

    Thanks for your help ladies.

Che, yes, we would pronounce it like "Che Guevara" cause we both like the namesake. But when I typed it out the first thing I noticed was the "ch" repeating in Archie and Che. Audax, I would love it if someone got some use out of it, so it's all yours!

Thomas - I couldn't find any google listing for a footy player called Archie Thomas, but I like the sound of it.

William - was on our original list for first names but DH vetoed it. Same goes for Oliver, which I love but DH doesn't. Oh, and I suggested Luke, but my new 2w/o nephew is Lucas. And we have a James J(surname) in our family already!

And Earl - I've told DH that if he feels connected to it, then we will use it. He's a bit ambivalent because he doesn't like using a name because it's been used in the family. I know his parents would be stoked if we used it. I'm leaving this one up to DH, I personally think Earl is quite cute.

Ironically, after reading your posts to DH, I think he's coming back to Archie George . No doubt once he's born we'll be inspired.

    Thanks again ladies.

We're going with DH's first name as the middle name... its a family tradition, one DH was keen to keep. So I have the opposite problem to you hun - no first name but middle name is set!

I do like Archie Thomas, just seems to work. Archie Earl is quite nice too!

Good luck and can't wait to see your BA - I've been thinking about you!
