I LOVE Aoife, a loady I work with's daughter is names that.
freya - thats exactly what I thought too. She's not that old, so you're right her mum would have had to sign the forms.
I taught a Shayla and an Asha aswell that I thought were pretty and unusual names.
I love
Mhari, which is welsh for Mary and the original pronunciation is Var-ie, but these days is Mar-ie
and
Isis.It is so pretty.....
I know of a boy named Hawkesbury River - no lie.
I knew of a little girl once named 'Talaska', I think it is really pretty.
My real life name is Trilby-Roux - I've heard of other Trilbys (Trilbies? Lol) but never met one, and I never expect to meet a Trilby-Roux (It is said TRILbee-Roo)
Hmmm unique names... my cousins have fairly odd names - Vasiliki and Evgenia - but they're Greek so not really unusual... although the boy next door's name was Nectar, which is a bit bizarre even for Greeks.
A few others I've heard:
Keadynn (Kee-den)
Tannith (nickname Tanni, girl)
Teylor (unusual spelling of Taylor, girl)
Rainer (boy)
Bodhi (pron. Bodie)
Qaiss (pron. "case", boy)
Kiki (girl, pron. "kicky", not "key-key")
One of my best friends is Tess, I love her name...
OOoh Trilby-Roux - thats awesome!
Alissa - I LOVE the name Qaiss - never heard it before!! Going to add that one to my list now! (not that I need one at the moment lol)
control freak -![]()
Ok, there are some really good ones if you go cross cultural. For example in Spanish:
Africa
Valeria...both quite common, apparently.
Also Rochayne - which is Roisin in Irish.

CHARM
i saw it in a magazine
I think Mehkelti is a unique name - never met another one yet!!![]()
I know a Meewah (dutch name), a Petrea, a Beyonce (she's about 6, so cute!), a guy called Bear (he was so un-bearlike), an Amelinda. Most unusual name I've heard - Newspaper. But that was in Hong Kong, I think it was just an english name he liked the sound of.
my DS goes to school with brothers named Snow and Banjo...i thought they where strange at first and then i meet them and they totally suit their names
I once taught a D'Weazel!! And his twin brother was called D'Razcal!! Right here in Perth, of recent years too. I almost died! Behind every lovely child is a parent.....Each to their own, but that is cruel isn't it?
SAJEK, ATM I like Logan, Xambri, Indra (all names suggested on BB :/) and have always liked Makeira Pearl for our next DD (?), BUT I heard another name of a movie and thought it was awesome......Apollo (Sun god).
I once knew a girl named Staum.
Hope you catch that special name soon!
