We have a new mum at the school (hello if you lurk)
Her name is B r y n j a. Which I think is really pretty when written down. We asked her how to say it and she said "like Brin' ya own drinks" I can't think of her son's name but the other is pronounced Justice.
I spaced it in the hope google doesn't pick it up when putting it all together LOL

The name Paisley as a child's name makes me giggle a little (sorry). It is where my children were born in Scotland, not a very nice town.
My 2nd girl's name was Niamh (Neeve) which you don't get a lot over here, it is more a celtic name.
I also love Seona (Show-na), Morag and Iona for a girl.
Ok so some of the names that I like or are in my family - perhaps not the most unusual names but cute and not too out there:
Calais - like the car but not named after the car - actually a French sea port
Sway-lee
Willow - ok so this is getting a bit common now but wasnt when I named my neice 6 years ago - I hadnt actually heard of a child with that name
Astrabella - my favourite - if I was having a girl she would have this name - meaning beautiful star!
Harper (girl)
Hudson
Avalon - I know Ava is really popular but I prefer this.
Something people find really funny about our family is all of the kids have a connection with a car in their names, wasnt intentional at the time of naming but now we think about it they all do, my oldest brother has two kiddies:
Lincoln - an old car I am told (perhaps popular before my time)
Hermione Avalon - Avalon being a current type of car
And my other brother has three daughters:
Calais - Holden
Willow - as in Willowbank raceway
Holly - as in Holly Carboretor
So we are thinking of naming our son:
Hunter Cruz - just to keep with the family tradition of having the motor vehicle connection.
I think you are right with unusual names becoming popular over time, a lot of the names in my family have become popular since they were little:
Khala - actually pronounced Kayla - but she is 25 so unheard of when she was little
India - again unheard of 18 years ago but now getting quite popular
Maddison - very unusual 20 years ago when she was born
Perrii - girl - unusual and still not popular lol
Amity
Sian
Slade
My cousins' name is Lael (pronounced Layel)
I went to school with a girl named Freedom
Then of course there is Nevaeh that is becoming way to trendy these days.
I also LOVe the name Harper for a girl (as in Harper Lee)
