My DD doesn't have an unusual name but one that is not heard very often - Tara.

I went to school with a girl called Aisha (Ay Sha) and also a girl called Kylie (normal name) but her brothers were called Cord & Edge. I also know someone who's brothers name is Brock (getting more common).

I lovr the name Aoife. I too didn't know how to pronounce it the first time I saw it, and automatically thought Oy-fee. And thought It was a strange name. Then I hear it pronounced and really liked it.

it was on a reality TV show I was watching on Foxtel, and yes the girl was Irish.

Yeah the actor out of forrest gump (bubba) is mykelti - but he pronounces it michael-t.

So we sorta got it from that, but changed it so the pronounciation was the way that its spelt - and then changed the my to meh cos we didn't want her teased at school (my-kelti, come here MY-kelti.. lol)
