    My babies names

ok. So I have had names picked for my babies for the best part of 10 years. (most recent name would be about 3 years old). Now that Spock is actually happening! I have been thinking if these names are still what I want.
What better way to decide this than to ask for peoples opinions!

I want honest opinions too! because you can seriously screw up a child if you get this wrong

So if Spock is a boy...

    Reginald Bootlace Floyd *lastname*

and if Spock is a girl...

    Petunia Delta Black *lastname*

    Thanks everyone!!!

Love Reginald! It makes me think of a kindly old gent with specs It would be a gorgeous name all through a boys life. Bootlace. No. What's the significance. I think it's ripe for **** taking. Although, middle names don't really get used in every day life. Floyd, LOVE! I'd probably even go Floyd Reginald I like Floyd so much.

Petunia. So cute. Makes me think of Harry Potter, but that wouldn't be a common reaction. I really like it. Delta? Eh, it's unique...again though, middle names rarely get used so if you love it. Actually, I don't mind it that much, it grows on you. I like it better than Bootlace lol. Black...I think it's a bit heavy in a name. I'd love to know the significance behind your names! I love your first names!

I'm with PZ here. I love Floyd, Reginald is cute but not a fan of Bootlace (sorry, but it reminded me that I have to buy laces for my DH before he comes home tomorrow)

I do like Petunia. Delta is a bit 80's but is kinda cute. Black is a bit too, ummm dark? (lol!) I think masculine when I think black.

I think if they're names YOU love and YOU want them for your children, go for it!

That's the main thing...if you love them, it ultimately doesn't matter what we think. Our future sons name will be Kiefer...everyone I've asked does not like it. But DH and I adore it So we're happy with our little future Kiefer

Bootlace- is that off Pirates of the Carribean?

I am a fan of both Reginald and Floyd. Both great, in either order. I do wonder how naming a child Bootlace would be a benefit to them. Do you know Moon unit Zappa pretty much hid from the world during her teenage years, due to depression about her name? Bootlace reminds me of that. Maybe call the puppy Bootlace, but not your darling child. Reg & Floyd, though, are great.

Petunia is a beautiful name. It will be shortened to Pet, though, if you're ok with that. To me, Delta is meh. Delta Black says to me, my Mum was a sci-fi loving goth. This may be true, but does it benefit the child any more than hippy kids being called Rainbow Summer or bogan kids being called Breehianah-Shylcee? I dont know. Your child, your choice.

I always like to think, would this name suit a child and an adult; a lawyer or an artist? But then, I also think it's best to wait to meet the baby to see what name they look like. That's just my experience though.

I do like Petunia, Reginald & Floyd.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of any of them. Sorry. Reginald is ok, and a kid could definitely make it his own and it would be cute, but I think I like it best cause it is an actual name.

Really I thought you were pulling my leg. I just can't imagine doing that to a child. They both sound like you have taken random names from a news paper or something. Maybe just maybe when I hear your reasons.....

I agree you are the one that has to like it but really it's the poor child that has to live with it

    I'd stick with spock!

Sorry but you did ask, if I knew you in real life I would have just put on one of those polite faces and say ' oh that's unusual isn't it?'

So take which ever response you would like.

all very groovy names. Love Reginal Floyd and Petunia Delta. wondering if the other bits are a little bit over kill. remember the kid has to learn to write these names too and that's a massive name for a little one. ultimately your baby, your choice, btw i think you are having a Petunia

I like unusual names and I am used to others comments on my own unusual choice of names.

I don't like these particular names and sorry I did at first think you weren't serious. But if you love them, go for it.

I like Floyd, could be a good middle name. Not a fan of the other boys names.

Delta is ok, as is Petunia. First thoughts on these is Delta Goodrem and Harry Potter. Not sure I would use both.

Would love to know your inspiration for these?

Reginald is good, he'd get Reg or Regie. the Bootlace part concerns me though, kids can be cruel, i cant imagine my son going on stage to get his university diploma and having the MC read out REginald Bootlace though, seems more like a nickname than a name.
Petunia is a sweet name for a girl, like PZ said though it does remind me of harry potter, and im pretty sure her surname is picklebottom, but HP probably wont be as popular once your little one is at school, so it probably wont be an issue

I think the 'Bootlace' and the 'Black' parts are a bit overkill tbh.

Reginald would probably be shortened to Reggie... and Reggie Floyd sounds super cute!!

I'm not a huge fan of Petunia as a first name, but quite like the sound of Delta Petunia.

Sorry I don't really like them but like others have said if you love them then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. They kind of sound to me like make believe names that a little kid has made up for their imaginary friends. Reggie is a cute nn for Reginald and out of all of them I don't mind Floyd.

We are chossing unusual names too and I expect they will not be too popular with everyone

Sorry :They are not my cup of tea - I really think middle names are just for the sake of it, as kids never get called by their full names,

So Regie or Pet ?? Hmmm
