I like Castian - the only reason I like Caspian better is because I love the Chronicles of Narnia, and think they're a really great thing to be named after - if you've never read them, definitely have a read, it might sell you on Caspian.

I also like Rilian and Tirian from Narnia too. If you like the name, go for it.

Some of the most common words and names were made up. Bubble was made up by Shakespeare. So really if you like it then use it!!

I immediately thought of the pronounciation how you explained it, and I honestly don't think it as bad as some (Brangelina or Apple anyone?). It does sound like a name, rather than a word so I think it is fine.

Thanks Kristy J- I too have come across a few Castians via google. Bastian is quite a common name in the US (thanks to the boy from Never Ending Story), so its only 1 letter different to that!
If DH permits, I would like the middle name Myles, so
    Castian Myles perhaps?

PS- I see you have sons named Caleb & Sebastian - I like your taste!

I don't like it. Sounds too made up to me. Sorry!

Aponi, I like Drake... that's my nephews name!

I really like uncommon names, I have Jaidan (wasn't common at the time ), Chase Blaze and Ashton so all uncommon. I also have Jaxson and Levi for other kids picked out already lol

Its actually not a made up name LOL! But I've always seen it as Castien and often as a last name

I think if you like it go with it... So much better than bizarre spellings IMO.

Not a big fan either, sorry. Sounds a bit too made up to me but at the end of the day it is yours and your DH's choice.

I don't love it because for some reason it brings up a vision of castaway or cast out. But Caspian is nice. Quite a romantic name. But you know lots of people dont like my DS's name so each to their own.

Castian reminds me of 'castanet'. I don't really like it, but it doesn't offend me either.
    I do prefer Caspian though.
But, I really like Sebastian. Love the nn Seb and Bas. I also like Casper/Caspar.

Well it's going to get pronounced 'Cast-tian' (with the 'cat' sounds, not 'cast') by the majority of people so....it's nice! (honestly, the long 'ar' sound makes it sound a bit snobby and pole-up-bum)

For those that have suggested it, I think Casper is a LOVELY name but the poor kid would SO get called 'Casper The Friendly Ghost' for his entire schooling life (at least)
