No, it really doesnt.
I think it needs to be a single syllable name. Like Scott Bayden, or James Bayden. The two syls in Bayden make it difficult to splice with another two syl name.
yeah, its got me thinking.
I really like bayden, so i might have it as his middle name. that way dads happy that his name is there, but he can also have his own name.
any ideas on a good boy name that goes well with bayden?
sorry to bother you all, im just terrible with names lol
I quiet like-
Liam Bayden.... but it seems too...i dunno, doesnt roll off the tongue lol
arrrgghhh...what name seems nice lol? suggestions pleease![]()

lol, that scott bayden name sounds almost identical to the name of my brother in law, whom doesnt speak to me, out of jelousy for me being pregnant and having kids before him and my sister.
but i get ya jist....
Ill work on it![]()
yeah, i also don't think that boy's should be named after their dads. they need thier own idenitity.
i like james baden or matthew baden
Nice name, I wouldn't choose to do it myself but it doesn't matter what I think it is what you two want to do that counts.
What about if your baby was a girl? Would you both give her your name?
Nice name but I would NEVER name my children after one of us. My grandfather had the same name as my great-grandfather so my grandfather has gone by his middle name most of his life to avoid confusion. To add to the confusion, my dad was named after his dad (so my grandfather) so dad got his father's 'real' middle name but remember that my grandfather was permanently using his middle name as his first name so once again, there were two boys in the house with the same name. So, to avoid confusion AGAIN, my dad decided to go by HIS middle name and has done so since!
Without using their real names, here's an example of what happened:
- Great grandfather was: Paul John Smith
- Grandfather was named: Paul Luke Smith. Changed his name to: Luke Paul Smith
- Dad was named: Luke Matthew Smith. Changed his name to: Matthew Luke Smih
Get it? Very confusing!!
What a complete PITA!! Dad has legal docs in his 'real' name but everything else is by his middle name (the name that everyone knows him by!). It can get confusing at time, especially when his passport is the 'real deal' but his license and credit cards are reversed.
It just gets way too confusing and I don't see the point in subjecting a child to that for life. I'm all for honouring dads names through middle names though. Just my opinion but I hope that helps with your decision!
I reckon kids should have their own names.
I also am one to think it's incredibly important that your son has his own identity
... Also i'm one who prefers if you are going to name a child after someone it is more precious & special that it is spelt the exact same way as the person they are named after
I truely think " Baden " looks great spelt that way![]()
Nope id never use the same name as DH (or any family members for that matter).
DS1 has his middle name the same as DH's but i couldnt use it as a first name.
For suggestions... James Baden, Samuel Baden, Luke Baden, Carl Baden.
If its a girl, we really like Kiera, as in Kiera Knightly.
However, i want to put her name with another name, maybe kiera lee ....but then that sounds too much like an ice cream desert lol
My name is Maureen, its a little old fashioned, so i dont really want bubs to have it for another lifetime...dont get me wrong, i love my name...
Since you're asking, I think you should give your son an identity of his own. Having said that, Bayden is the spelling I like most.
yeah, im pretty sure id like to maybe just have bayden as his middle hame and go with a more simpler, one sylable first name.
I just hope DP doesnt get too upset, im sure he wont, it was just that we were really considering to use his name...
he'll understand i hope![]()
I think it is a lovely gesture, although I would personally make the middle name after the father - otherwise it could get very confusing for them both in future- ie - not knowing which Baden a person is refering to etc.
I do like the name Bayden, by the way, but I would be going for ####### Bayden.
X
thankyou.
Im DP will still be honoured that his name is there.
Even if it is the second name.
oh, and chosing the first name will be something him and i can do together...
its a win win situation![]()
