Need help with middle names - DH & I can't agree.

Ok - I wasn't going to tell ANYONE at all our names but I need help and seeing as none of my family or friends lurk around in here I figured it was pretty safe.

We haven't as yet and are not planning on telling any of our family & friends Bub's name until he/she arrives. DH and I are having trouble deciding on middle names. We don't know what we are having so we've picked a first name for a girl and a boy that we both like - well the girls name we love but DH is still not 100% on the boys name.

Would just really appreciate any suggestions for middle names. Not interested in 'Hollywood' style names (that's what I call bizarre names like what famous people are using). I do like 'worldly/foreign' names though as I love to travel. Oh and we will be having two middle names for both boy or girl. Our surname is pretty neutral there are not many names that would clash with it.

    Girl: Sophie
    Boy: Zach

    Thanks!

I love Asha for a girl or Asher for a boy. Or Dahlia for a girl and Caden for a boy.

    How about SOPHIE CENDRINE

(Cendrine is my 2.5yr old daughter's 1st name, it's a very old French name ... i came across it 10yrs before she was born, a photographer introduced me to his wife named Cendrine whom at the time was a model well known in Melb & overseas)

CENDRINE means Cinders (as in from Cinderella) !!

My daughter has a very plain surname too

Also her middle name is ARIANE (meaning Holy)

Sophie is short enough and well-known enough that I think it sounds best with an uncommon name or a longer name- at least, something other than Jade, Grace, Marie, or Rose and all the other standard one-syllable middle names.

    Sophie Charlotte
    Sophie Clara or Sophie Clarissa
    Sophie Eloise
    Sophie Emilia
    Sophie Francesca
    Sophie Gabrielle
    Sophie Isla
    Sophie Jessamine
    Sophie Juliana
    Sophie Liliana
    Sophie Lucille
    Sophie Matilda
    Sophie Olivia
    Sophie Phaedra
    Sophie Victoria
    Sophie Violet

Zach would also go better with a longer middle name, if you're using it as a full name. If it's a nickname for Zachary or Zachariah, it might be better with a shorter one.

    Zach Adrian
    Zach Christopher
    Zach Jacob
    Zach Oliver
    Zach Samuel
    Zach William

    Zachary Blake
    Zachary Cade
    Zachary Jake
    Zachary John
    Zachary Lewis/ Zachariah Lewis
    Zachariah Levi

Are there any family names you would like to use? Or even variations of your names?

Wow thanks for the help everyone - Antonia that list is amazing, thanks!

sneaky - we did consider a few family names but I don't really like any of the names I would just be using them for the sake of it.

Think I might have to start a short list soon. Will keep you posted.

    Hi AJC
What about using your middle name for a girl and DH middle name for a boy. my first daughter has myy middle name and if this one is a boy he will have DH middle name. What about a version of your maiden name......this is what one of my nephews have, my sisters maiden name and that is always nice too.
Goodluck choosing names is the hardest thing.
    Other suggestions:
    Sophie Louise
    Sophie Lee
    Sophie Jane

    Zach/Zachary Tyler
    Zach/Zachary James
    Zach/Zachary Marcel

GOODLUCK By the way your secret of names is safe with us....
