Matilda - i think it's cute but seems pretty popular thesedays, which for me is a turn off
Harriet - love it ... but i do think of that line from Miss Congeniality... Dirty Harriet lol
    Stella - love it!
Violet - love it too, suggested it for dd but Dh wasn't a fan... men!
    Nora - not a fan
Rose - as a middle name veyr pretty
Olivia - have a friend of this name and she's so sophisticated and gorgeous! so love the name

    William -always loved it
    James - dh's name, ds's middle name
Thomas - my grandads name but dh wasn't a huge fan. i would have named ds that otherwise
Benjamin - lol i see a theme here... another immediate family member's name!
Spencer - LOVE LOVE love this name.
Callum - meh not a huge fan
    Ethan - see callum
Jacob - cute but i don't love it
Simon - mmm sorry not a fan, i just think of that horrid simple simon ryhme, which the child woudl probably get.
Patrick - yeah, anotehr possible for us! lol

What about Paul for your boys' list? it's classic and strong name? I really like cooper too but my dh's reaction was "isn't that a surname'' pft!
We have an Imogen, maybe that would go for your girls list?
You obviously have a very classic taste
Oh, another name i thought you might like.... it's a bit 'old fashioned' is Tess? I love Tess and Meg as names, DH hated them.

gee if I could get full naming rights like you do you lucky thing!!!

Lucky you having full naming rights! Love most of your names and our list for both DD and DS had quite a few of those on there!

My favourites from your list are Olivia, Stella, William and Ethan (DS is Ethan so I'm a bit biased lol!).

Other names on our list were Alyssa, Genevieve, Ivy, Eva, Sophie, Hannah, Lucas, Zac, Hamish, Daniel.

I have a feeling full naming rights will be revoked - "come on Amy, I didn't ACTUALLY mean it"

I'd love some more suggestions - especially for girls.

I absolutely LOVE Penelope. But it's my brothers fiance's name, and while I ADORE her, I couldn't use it.

From everyone else's suggestions, I love Meg, Eve/Evie, Sophie/Sophia (can't use either though), Poppy and Imogen I LOVE but my ex-H loved that name so much so I'd feel weird using it.

I absolutely LOVE Rose as a first name, but would probably use it as a middle name (Matilda Rose is my all time #1 favourite name). However, middle name will likely be Catherine, after DP's sister who passed away as a baby.

Other names I'm throwing around are:

    Grace
    Florence
    Charlotte (although it's very popular!)
    Lucy
Josephine (I LOVE Jo or Joey as a nn)
Pippa (although I'm not mad on Phillipa and have a thing about using nicknames as full names IYKWIM)

Boys are way too hard. So many to choose from, so many combinations, but I don't have my heart set on any! Isn't that always the way?

I don't see a problem with naming a child a name that is a nickname. A lot of nicknames have become names anyway. I like Pippa as a name better than Phillipa. I like Josie as a nn for Josephine.

I'm not a fan of Grace personally. Lucy's nice.
