    Question Old Man Poll

    Hello lovely ladies

A while ago you helped me out with some fab suggestions for old fashioned boys names... I have a few options now but need to know honest opinions please.

I realise my choices aren't "popular" but I like it that way... don't want too common a name... and also I'm going down the Old Man's Name route because I have two little Old Ladies, in the form of this lil' guy's big sisters, called Ivy Hazel and May Violet.

Not a fan of them but out of those four I think Edmund Joseph sounds the nicest and goes well with your daughters' names.

Edmund is my fave there, Edmund Hillary of Everest fame is a classic namesake and I love that it can be shortened to Eddie which is modern & groovy for your little old man in his teens.

    I love the name Edmund!

Don't like Wilbur as i think of the pig in "Charlotte's Web". Ned and Ted are OK but Edmund is much nicer.

Love your daughters names. Oddly enough I used to have three guinea pigs named Ivy, Hazel, and Violet. (I currently have Mabel, Ramona and Cushion)

I picked Ned. I like Wilbur, BUT I think it would get shortened to Wil and there are already about six thousand of them in each primary school.
I know a 2 year old Edward who gets called Ned. Maybe you could do the same thing with Edmund?

Hey, Twin Sis, my old car was Mabel and my new bike is Ramona (only after DH swore we would never use it as a baby name. Bike name is second best, but I'll take what I can get)

Edmund for sure. A very dignified name. Ted and Ned are both possible nicknames for Edmund anyway, and I ahave always felt that you need to put the whole old fashioned name on the birth certificate, even if you don't intend to use it in that form.
My DS2 is Edward. I worried a little about twilight (didn't even realise until it was pointed out to me shortly before he was born as I haven't read them) but I haven't come across another baby Edward yet. And as another BB member pointed out at the time... the people currently likely to name their children after twilight are 16 and hopefully won't be having those little Edwards for a while yet.

I have an Edward, nicknamed Ned. Very rare but suits him. I get wonderful comments about it all the time! It's a family name!

I'm really not a fan of any of them, but Ted is my dad's name so I guess I should say that, although I really don't (and never have) like the name Joseph. Hope you don't mind my brutal honesty

I like ted, but would prefer to go with Edward, or Edmund and use Ted as the nickname.

Thanks so much, and Pish of course I don't mind your honesty, it's what I wanted. FWIW Joseph/Joe is a family name... but if it wasn't it would not be my number one pick either TBH!
YAY keep it coming, love you guys. x

I'm not a fan of Wilbur but love the other three. But got to say - if it was Ned I would actually use Edward known as Ned and Ted would be Theodore.
