What does everyone think of the name 'Bear' as a middle name? Has anyone used it? Alicia Silverstone just named her son Bear Blu, there's Bear Grylls from Man vs Wild, and Anthony Kiedis from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers called his little boy Everly Bear.
My question is, is it more a celebrity-style unusual name? Is it setting my boy up for a hard time if his school mates decide it's a stupid name? I can only imagine what my family will think! I'm really more fond of traditional names, but when DH and I were discussing names and Bear somehow came up, we both paused and thought, Maybe!
In saying that, a girl I know just had a baby, Ivy Blue and I quite like it, yet had someone suggested blue as a name, I wouldn't have gone for it. Depends what you pair it up with perhaps?
I would not name my child with 'Bear' in their name, but I do use it as a nickname when DH and I are talking about Isla, we call her Isla-Bear. We use Bear a lot as nicknames for lots of things though...but yeah, not as an official name!
If you were using it as a first name I might have hesitations - but as a middle name I rekon go for it!!
Its not like its offensive or totally weird. You dont really use middle names much anyway!
I think its kinda cool
Not my cup of tea sorry, but this is your baby so u should name ur baby what you and ur partner both love and poo poo to the rest of the world
I have a theory though..............i do actually wonder if these names these celebrities call their children are in fact their real names or not. Are they just alias's because they dont want the entire world knowing what their children are actually called?
I like it. And as for friends at school I think it's "pretty cool" and most middle names that aren't simple like Ann or James etc someone will find a way to tease a kid if they really want to
Oh, and Bear Grylls first name isn't actually Bear. It's Edward Michael. Bear was just a nickname his sister gave him (and that obviously stuck). But hey, it suits him!
I think if that what you and DH paused on..then well maybe it is the one. For a middle name it is cute but I'm just thinking when your son is a teenager....Maybe you could have two middle names. That is what my DH has and he uses the one of the two middle names how he pleases But in the end of the day, if you love it go for it. My DH wants to call our son Surf ( if we have a boy oneday for a first name hmmmm.....) so Bear as a second sounds fine!
