    Our current two faves....

At the moment Em ily and Sop hie are winning the 'race' to be selected as DD2's name. DD1 is Ame lia.

I am completely torn. I love Em ily the best, however it is DH's young cousins name and I wonder if its too similar to Ame lia? I seem to have a thing with names with 'l's, 'm's and 'e's or 'a's.

Anyway, I love the name Sophie too, and it is DH's preference at the moment. My only worry is that it doesn't fit my usual 'theme' with the letters I like.....

If you were to choose one of these names, which do you think would be best?

Also, if you have other suggestions of 'normal' names (DHs criteria) with l and/or m and an e and/or a please let me know.

As much as I love the name Em ily I think its too close to Ame lia and wouldn't think of using both for siblings. So my choice would be Sop hie.

THey are pretty names, but I personally think Em ily and Am elia are a bit too similar together.
Names that came to mind when I was reading:

    Allira (a leer ah)
    Elenna
    Eleanor
    Sophia

Emily and Amelia are quite similar. Personally, I wouldn't, but I wouldn't think it was dreadful that two sisters were called Amelia and Emily. They are both nice names.

I do prefer Sophia to Sophie.

Other normal names with L and M, ending with A or E (some are nicer than others, IMO):

    Ellie
    Ella
    Millie
    Cecilia
Michelle (many names end with "elle" if you like that sound)
    Eliana
    Marlene
    Maxine
    Amanda
    Caroline
    Camille
    Priscilla
    Laura
    Maura

I think they are a little similar too Chody but Emily is pretty!
My DD is L iana. I think that goes nicely It's not common but I don't think it's too different either.

We are so stuck on girls names, DH and I will never agree!!

Mrs P - I've loved L iana for years, but DH thinks it is too different - his family has every most common name you could think of in it....

Aries - I had many of your suggestions on my list. We had actually short listed Emma too, but that's the name of one of my good friends AND another good friend has a daughter with that name (who's middle name happens to be DD1s name), so I thought it'd be a little weird....

I love them both, but would go with S ophie. E mily is just too close to A melia for me.

Then again, I am the person who inadvertently named their children C harlie and M arley! PMSL

As much as I love Em ily (my DD's name ) I think it is probably too close to Am elia. In fact, A was my number one girls choice so I was hestitant to choose E as it would count it out based on my rules. But since DH is deadset against A, we did choose E. Having said that, I think it is different enough that I would still probably consider it lol! Not much help there. I love S ophie too

Amelia & Holly (or spelt Hollie)? That's what we are thinking if we have bub#3. We have Amelia & Lachlan.

My DD is L ily, and it's pretty awesome!

I had a lot of your choices on my list for girls. E mily would have been our choice if DS2 had have been a girl. I do think it's too similar to A melia though. Sophie is a gorgeous name (also on our girls names list!)

    Other names I had were

    Caitlyn
    Hannah
    Annabelle
    Ann Marie
    Liliana
    Lucy

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I keep adding to my list, but I think I'm winning the 'fight' over the name Matilda. Not that it was really a fight, DH is just starting to like it more
