LOVE the name Audrey Samara. Audrey is such a classic elegant name IMO.

Boys I'm a big fan of Jacob. It's on my list too (not that I'm preg!) Ethan, I'm not a fan of as the next door neighbour at my mums had an Ethan and she was CONSTANTLY yelling at him!

Ashlyn is a lovely girls name. I like the Irish spelling (Aisling), but your way would make it easier for most people to pronounce.

Do you like Jake, as a short form of Jacob? Because my guess is that's what he'd get once he's a bit older. If you like it, then go for it, otherwise, might be a consideration. I think both names are nice.

I had a mummy friend who named her DD Audrey (she's my DD's age). So it's not completely unused! I think it's pretty. Not much help, am I?!

I like both your girls choices. I prefer Ashlyn but if it was me, I would probably skip that one based on the similarity to your SIL. I like Audrey too.

Of the boys, I think Ethan Isaac flows really well. I really like Ethan for a boy.

    hey Taurean

i love all the names! Funnily enough i have jacob and ethan both on my list as well. I am also having the same issue with Ethan having a nickname and if it sounds good for a forty year old as well as a boy, but i do like it a little bit more than jacob.

I work with an audrey and she is lovely. that is my pick for the girl name.

i tend to take names of my list if they sound familar to family names or the shortnened versions are the same. it does make it confusing if you spend a lot of time together with the person.

Thanks heaps for your thoughts girls!

We may have one more girl name to add to the mix - Chloe. We've just been on holidays and Chloe was our waitress several times at dinner and breakfast at the resort and we just loved her! So did DD! What do you think?

I think regardless we'll more than likely making the final decision once we meet our LO. I think at this point Ethan and Ashlyn are winning but only just.

My SIL (my little brother's wife) lives in Victoria and we are in WA so although we chat regularly, we only see her once a year usually. We do all refer to her as Ash though so there would be two 'Ash' girls in our immediate family which is totally against my naming rules but I just love Ashlyn, it's so pretty!

If we choose Jacob, we would definitely shorten it to Jake. We are typical Aussies and love a nickname I'm still scared of 'J' names though which is annoying me as that's my only qualm with Jacob!

I love the name Chloe and Chloe Samara sounds lovely. I also really like Audrey.

For a boy I like the name Ethan Jacob.

    Good luck!
