What about something more like Hannah?
Hello,
My DH's Mum's middle name is Anne and it was also the name of my very favourite Nanna. If I have a girl I would like to use Anne as a middle name, with Iris as a first name but I just dont love Anne as a nameI was thinking I could use a variation of Anne? Only ones I can think of so far are (none of which really float my boat...):
Iris Annabelle
Iris Annalise
Iris Anna
Thanks ladies!!
What about something more like Hannah?

Anais (prounounced aneese...I think)
Um...that's all I have for now. I love the name Iris by the way. Have fun deciding!
Ah...which one is pronounced aneese then? I'm sure I've heard that name before...
my all-time favourite Anne variation is Anouk
Anis (french) is prnounced A-Niss (like Star Anise)
Antoinette
Angelique
Ariane
Anneke
I *think* if you use the dots above to do ANA?S as in Ana?s Nin its pronounced Ahn-ah-is (which can sound like Aneese) but if you don't have the dots the emphasis is not there. Where as the perfume Anais Anais is said "Ahn-Nay Ahn-Nay.
Where's Bath when I need her she's the french lover...
Ah yeah - I've only seen it with the accent, so perhaps that's it!
